What is a competitive analysis?
What is a competitive analysis is mainly about assessing the companies and alternatives competing for the same customers, budgets, needs, or outcomes. A reliable approach is to map competitors by segment, audience, offer, pricing, capabilities, messaging, channels, proof points, and strategic advantages. For example, a software business can score rivals on integrations, onboarding, support, pricing transparency, security, and customer fit. The main caution is that a feature table without interpretation describes competitors but does not explain their strategic position. The final output should provide better choices about differentiation, product priorities, sales arguments, partnerships, entry strategy, and threats.
