Why is market research important?

Why is market research important is mainly about reducing uncertainty before committing money, inventory, people, or time. A reliable approach is to validate demand, identify customer needs, compare alternatives, estimate opportunity, examine pricing, and expose hidden risks. For example, research may show that buyers value delivery speed and warranty more than extra product features. The main caution is that research reduces risk but cannot eliminate it, especially when samples are weak or data is outdated. The final output should provide better prioritization, earlier correction of weak ideas, and more measurable investment decisions.
