Definition
Brand Equity represents the cumulative value that a brand creates beyond the functional characteristics of its products or services. It reflects the degree to which customers recognize, trust, prefer, and remain loyal to a brand, allowing the organization to generate commercial advantages that competitors with equivalent offerings may struggle to achieve.
Brand Equity is built gradually through consistent customer experiences, product quality, reputation, communication, innovation, reliability, and long-term relationships. Unlike physical assets, it cannot be acquired instantly or replicated easily. Strong Brand Equity influences customer perceptions before purchasing decisions are made, often reducing sensitivity to price while increasing confidence in the organization's ability to deliver value.
